Swimming and Horrible Numbers

If I thought I was utterly smashed last time, this time I am in little bitty pieces.

Been too long since I was last at the gym, going to have to stop that

1 x 4 lengths, felt like I was dying.
1 x 2 lengths, dead

At this point I started paying attention to the instructor who was teaching a lady in the next lane, and saying that she should slow down her stroke in order to breathe properly. I thought, hmm, maybe that would work for me.

1 x 4 lengths, not dead.

Jacuzzi 10 mins – that was really really nice.

It was actually the walk back to the flat from the gym that nearly did me in πŸ˜‰

Visits to Gym – 7
Cost per Visit – €45.714285714285714285714285714286 (Um, is that a little too precise?)

Another little trick that I am going to try is planning what my next visit to the gym is going to be. If I’m still a zombie on Monday, I’ll wait until Wednesday. If I’m only dead-ish, I’m going back on Monday.

Swimming again

Yesterdays swim

3 x 2 lengths, gaspings after each set of 2
Jacuzzi 12 mins, waiting for lane to be free
1 x 8 lengths, gasping πŸ™‚
Going to slow down a little now, and build up slowly, should be able to do long distances again soon.

I am going to have to work on my stroke technique as well, it’s completely gone. The fact that I am gasping and unfit means that I can’t breathe properly yet, but we’ll get there.

Visits to Gym – 4
Cost per Visit – €80

Sundays Swim

A bit delayed, but I’ve had a mental day.

1 x 6 lengths, major gaspings after each set of 2
Jacuzzi 10 mins
1 x 6 lengths, major gaspings after each set of 2

Current statistics

Weight – 26 stone or thereabouts
Visits to Gym – 3
Cost per Visit – €106.66

Also, on a public service note: in a swimming pool with 2 clearly marked and signed swimming lanes, it is NOT ok for you to sit in the middle of one of the aforementioned swimming lanes with your sprogs and play around – for 45 sodding minutes! There’s an entire half of the damn pool set aside for you!

Bloody hell, I don’t know. I maybe need to become a bit of a bastard and start saying something, but I just don’t want the aggro from these people.

Ah well.

Back in the Gym again

Took the plunge (literally) and joined the Gym in the Tower *sneeze* Hotel again. €320 for 6 months – this makes the third *sneeze* (possibly 4th) attempt at joining the gym I’ve made, and I think I went maybe 12 *sneeze* times in total over those three attempts, so it was mighty bloody expensive.

Think the chlorine is making me sneeze πŸ™‚

Anyway, I’m going to keep track of progress here on the blog for those that are interested.

Session Report

25 m pool
1 x 4 lengths – gasping after each set of 2.
Jacuzzi 5 mins
1 x 4 lengths – another gasping session after each set of 2.
1 x 2 lengths – and that was enough.
Floated for about 5 minutes (magic – not often I get to feel weightless!)
Sauna 10 mins – lovely new sauna

Current statistics

Weight – 26 stone or thereabouts – I’ll try and get a more accurate figure when I can find a big enough machine
Visits to Gym – 1
Cost per Visit – €320 – It costs €10 for a single session in the pool, so my aim is to get this cost down below that before I have to renew.

CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive – Fiorina’s comment called β€˜Biden-like’ Β« – Blogs from CNN.com

Top McCain-Palin official Carly Fiorina is facing criticism from some within the campaign for a day of what they call “very Biden-like” comments, after the former Hewlett-Packard CEO told two separate interviewers that neither member of the Republican ticket would be capable of running a company.

Tee hee hee.

Asked by a St. Louis radio station whether she thought Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin could run a company like Hewlett-Packard, Fiorina responded: “No, I don’t.

*snort*! Stop it!

Asked about that remark on MSNBC, she made the same unprompted assessment of the GOP presidential nominee. “I don’t think John McCain could run a major corporation.”

OMG! Stop! My sides are killing me!

This campaign source said Fiorina would be discouraged from additional media interviews.

HAR HAR HAR …. *thud*
